As this is my first post i would like to say hello to all. I am especially keen on the first gens and currently have a clean ,rust free, 91 TP GLX wagon which is a real gem as my daily driver. Delivered from SF motors Ballarat in December 91, originally owned by the Ballarat city council then bought by an older couple in 1993 and very well looked after interior, body and mechanically from there (always stored under cover & came with original owners/service manual). 145,000 km on the clock.
The only thing the car needed for RWC was a pair of tie rod ends (which actually weren't that bad) the VACC mechanic that did the roady was actually blown away by the condition of the car for its age. Its a real beauty (couple of very minor blemishes here and there) no oil leaks and drives great.
I Look forward to spending some time here in the forum. Good to see so many others that also have a soft spot for the good old 1st generation Magna's.

Gday and thanks for your kind welcomes to the forum. I have been trying to post some photos and have got them onto photobucket. They seem to be coming out too big on the post. have tried a few times now and had to delete them due to the size. I'm generally ok with this sort of stuff but i'm blowed if i know what i'm doing wrong. Anyone tell me what the go is please?

you Upload the picture you want into photobucket
then after it is loaded you click on the image and
then it has on the left some boxes with codes
use the bottom img code... block and copy that line
then paste on to your post in this forum
later you put you photo of your car in members rides section

Thanks for your help, i was doing that but the photo's were coming out huge in the post. I think i've worked out how to resize the photos in photobucket so i'll have another crack at it. Thanks again.

I took these shots with my phone in pretty bad light. I'll get some better shots of the interior etc and post them soon. As you can see there is a bit of a ding on the rear right corner of the bumber bar. There is also a ding in the front spoiler and guard (will be fixed as soon as i can find the bits i need) but apart from that the rest of the car is great.

Hey! Same as the one I used to have! The rear bumper even looks the same! lol Its rare to see one with the original paint still intact. Lots of wax and keep it out of the sun if you can. Roomy and comfortable car, mine had enough power but was heavy on petrol. How is your fuel consumption? Being a GLX it would be a carb 2.6, manual or auto?

Its actually not too bad on fuel I've been getting around 550 to 590 km to the tank. Although I haven't run it dry.The plan is to carry some spare fuel and see if i can get 600km out of it.(what do they usually get to the litre?) Its a carb 2.6 Auto. It idles as smooth as silk and starts first kick every time. I don't give it stick, just cruise around with a view to conserving fuel. The paint is good and original all over, but it has been stored undercover and looked after pretty well by the previous owners.
The unused ashtrays in the back doors still had the factory paper in them !! And I don't think the back seat has been used, if at all. I really enjoy driving it, as you say roomy and comfortable. Cheap enjoyable motoring. It aint no rocket ship, but hey, it more than does the job I need it to do.

It was a toss up between tp2.6 and magsubishi, but when I noticed that a great mind had already come up with ts3.0 that sealed the deal. I didn't want to cramp your style.
