Hey guys
Just wondering if there's any difference between the US-spec Diamantes and the Australian Magnas in terms of their suspension? I'm looking at ordering a camber kit - for both front and rear - from the US.
Cheers
Front suspension on NZ and Japanese Diamantes is indeed different in some, if not all models. The front setup is a superior multi-link design. I remember inspecting a Diamante import with Dean/Life at a wreckers yard a while ago. Dare I say a camber kit will be different between Magna and Diamante with the different setup.

Yeah, I was pretty sure the JDM Diamantes had a different suspension setup, but weren't the American Diamantes just imports from Australia (so presumably they use the same suspension)?
NZ diamantes were imported from auz too

True.
I did some Googling and the US Diamantes suspension specs seem to match up with the Aus spec models... might be worth taking a gamble.

KYB lists the same part numbers for the front struts and rear shocks for Magnas and US Diamantes on their respective websites. If the shocks are interchangeable, that should be sufficient to suggest that their suspension components are they same?
They list different part numbers for the 2nd gens, which make sense since the Diamantes definitely had a different setup to the Magnas...

I'll feild that one. ;) Only the rear which is multi link (same as 3000GT FWD) But the front is 100% the same as a TR TS magna.

The US cars will be strut front ends. The NZ cars are all struts (as they came from AUS) but the grey import Diamantes (from JDM) are all multi link. Easiest way to tell, is the suspension towers under the bonnet of the multilink cars will be very squared off. The Aus and US cars will have very rounded panels.

Thanks for that guys.
I've ordered the kits, front and rear, so we'll see how they go - probably get them installed in around a fortnight. The front kit was US$20 and the rear was US$80 - much cheaper than what you'd pay here in Aus, even with shipping factored in.

Just an update - I ordered front and rear camber kits for a Diamante and they went on without dramas :) Ended up being about $210AU, with shipping that only took two business days (would have been $15-20 cheaper if I opted for slower shipping). Not bad value considering the Whiteline kit (front only) is about $100AU.

That was for both the front and rear kits... the fronts were just bolts, but the rears rear kits (http://www.ingallseng.com/35860-adjustable-rear-control-arm-mounting-kit.html) (x2) were pretty beefy.
