Mate that's a beautiful looking car. The paint code should be located on the manufacturing plates in the engine bay.

Bugger, This site may help you http://color-online.glasurit.com/

According to Glasurit Paints If it's known as PLATINUM SILVER MET Code = EH , if it's STARLIGHT PEARL Code = W17 . I just had a look what looks like a TL magna brochure which had those 2 silver colours listed , as per the brochure the Platinum was for both Std spec cars & VRX and the starlight pearl was VRX only. I don't know if the paint range was revised for TW.

I recently had a PPG paint system used on my car and it was badly matched. Work got re-done by someone else using Glasurit and perfect match straight up.

Thanks for that info. Didn't know there were 2 silvers. Might just email the dealer and ask him to check the paint code on the build plate for me.

Starlight Pearl is white, that's the colour of Doddski's car.

No worries, wasn't trying to insult your intelligence but I'd be safe and go down that path. Something else I learnt which I was not away of is that although you have a paint code, there can still be variants with the same code. Apparently paint batches can vary which I believe is what went wrong with my car. From what I was told PPG did not list any variants for my Daintree green but Glasurit did which had a blue variant. It was this variant that my car was in. The glasurit system has paint chips (cards of the actual product colour) which confirmed 100% the correct colour. Plastic painted surfaces generally will always have a slightly different look even though the same paint is applied. The Holden Omegas are a good example of how bad this can look though.

Sorry, My Bad

It looked silver in the brochure which is indicative I guess but I must admit my colour as shown in the brochure looks nothing like my car. Starlight came up when I filtered in Glasurit for silver colours.
Just found this quote from an old thread "Just got back from Toowong Mitsubishi (Brisbane), and I placed a deposit on a starlight silver (aka pearl white - I love it!) TL Magna AWD.":

So does that mean there was only one silver colour for the car in question?

The colour you're looking at is same as mine, Called Platinum - code is EH. only TL MY04's and TW's came out in this colour. earlier TL's were pewter in colour. not sure of code
