On the way home today my engine warning light came on? The car was only in for a check last Thursday. Wanted them to check the ticking! Interestingly enough on the way home on Thursday did notice a dead spot in acceleration (almost a hiccup)? Same thing a couple of times the next day and today. Intermittent
though?
Limping back to the dealer tomorrow!
Any views on what this might be??

Sounds like a misfire & I bet that will be the CEL code that will be revealed.

Yep, ask the dealer for the error code numbers & what they mean.
If it's a simple misfire then the error codes will be P0300, P0301, and P0302 and so on, where 0300 = multiple/random misfire, 0301 = cylinder 1 misfire, 0302 = cylinder 2 misfire and so on.
Could be one or more faulty spark plugs or leads, although I haven't heard of this being a problem with the 6G75.
How many ks have you done? Have you replaced the spark plugs at all?
The stock 380 spark splugs (all six) are Bosch Iridium R6 FR8DI30, which are due for replacement at approx 100,000k, but should last to at least 150,000k with little or no problems.

Thanks for the reply guys. Off to the service dept. Cars now on 110,000km and the plugs were done last service at 105,000! Remember the car was only in last Thursday getting the ticking checked, so was wondering if they didn't accidentally loosen something in the process? Bit of a conspiracy theory here, but they did ask if I could leave the car overnight last Thursday as they had ordered my drivers seat shield cover and could put it on the next day? I needed the car so they said it would only take 5/10 min to install so they would ring when the part arrived and I could drop in??? Thought that was a bit odd? Particularly seeing they didn't ring the next day? It was after that service that my problems started!

:hmm: Yeah seems a bit strange, it's almost as if they knew they did something wrong & are trying to cover their tracks. Oh good luck with it & keep us updates.

Well they seemed to have fixed the problem 8hrs later!! Checked and found DTC present in system relating to injector seals R/R inlet manifold and replaced all seals. Re-assembled and R/T, found okay. They did have an issue with one of the seals not sitting right so that was one of the reasons for the delay! Whilst it was in they replaced my drivers seat shield protector too. I've noticed a little less ticking too! Will wait a couple of days till things settle. Filled up with Caltex vortex today. Ouch $1.42, but in the big picture it is not so bad. My son in law is an engineer and was a mechanic, he uses E10 in his merc and is quite happy with it? Says I should run 91RON and just run cleaner now and again. Seeing as unleaded is disappearing by next July I might just run with 95RON instead of 98. I will just use that on trips!
