I'm getting some vibration under acceleration in my 2002 KJ GTV & when I checked it out this afternoon, there's a fair bit of side to side movement in the RH inner CV joint if you pull & push on the driveshaft. I'm assuming that means a stuffed CV joint - am I right?

Assuming that's the case, I'll be putting a new one in, but I'll need to separate the driveshaft from the intermediate shaft - anyone know how that's done? Last time I did one it was on a KS model & I had to get a garage to separate them, which I'd like to avoid this time, as much from the time point of view as the cost.

Inner is a DOJ joint, is meant to move in and out

It could be the outer joint, wheel bearing or rack end worn

If is a joint, can do brand new with new inner and outer for about the $140 mark plus freight

Excuse my ignorance, whats a DOJ joint? In any case, when I said side to side, I meant laterally across the axis of the shaft, not along the direction of the shaft - sorry, should have made myself clearer!
