hey everyone. Just went to turn on my lights and foggies as usual when i noticed one of my lights started twitching then went dim. Turns out i now have one low beam head light out. So now im thinking its time to do all lights including foggies, im after some VERY BRIGHT lights as i do a lot of night time highway driving and excellent vision at night is what im seeking. I really like the standard 380 lights as they spread very wide and give me plenty of vision infront. Just wondering what brands have you guys put into yours as well as your fog lamps as i want the same colour top and bottom, whats good what to steer clear of ect... Thanks for your help guys much appreciated. Kif
Get Phillips CrystalVision, I had them on my exec headlights, they provide a nice white colour and lots of light, perfect balance of looks and performance. Only problem is the price tag at about $100 a set.

I recommend the Philips Xtreme Power +80 for both low & high beam, you can get all four delivered for around $100 from powerbulbs.com, see here:
http://www.powerbulbs.com/philips-xtreme-extreme-power.asp?cat1=37&cat2=73
You'll need the H4 (low beam / high beam combo) & the H7 (high beam).
Also see this thread: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67696
IMHO opinion the stock 380 low beams are crap but the stock high beams are pretty good.
The Philips Xtreme Power +80 low beams are infinitely better and the high beams are a little better than stock. Both give lots of nice bright white light.
The low beams are a PITA to fit though, you need tiny hands and the dexterity of a concert pianist!
Can't comment on foggies, don't have any on my pov pack base model.

I think you can get them from places like Repco, Autobarn, Sprint Auto etc (but not SCA as they stock only Calibre), but they'll cost you twice what you pay to get them from powerbulbs.com. Not so sure about Repco either, I think they have a deal with Narva. You'll need to ring around or shop around.
Maybe you can get the low beams from a local store tomorrow and order the high beams from powerbulbs?
Tip - if you try to fit the low beams youself, make sure you read up fully in the other thread (linked in my earlier post) on the technique and do it very carefully, otherwise you'll have problems. I speak from bitter experience!

I have had the Osram night breakers in . Not too bad, but the drivers side one just blew out on low beam so I had to drop the standard back in. I may get a set of the x-treme and put one in the drivers side and see what the difference is.
ps: I would check out ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/PHILIPS-EXTREME-POWER-H4-XTREME-XENON-BULBS-X-TREME-/260620923925?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cae37b415
as they are 14.39 uk with 2.8 uk delivery as opposed to 22 uk on the power bulbs site listed above. Coincidentally the name of the store in ebay is powerbulbsdirect jfyi

I'd also like to upgrade the headlamps in my 380, just having a bit of difficulty in understanding whether I need a h4 or h7 bulb? I'm only interested in low beam, so does that mean I only need to get a h4 bulb? If the h4 does low and high why would you need a h7)

H4 does high /low beam and H7 does high beam only. The H4 are a double filament globe that switch from low to high when you operate the high beam on the stalk.

Further to that H4 is more a spread beam on the high beam and the H7 gives you more a spot and the distance.

I currently using the Osram night breaker right now and it's really bright. Very worthwhile investment.
Oh, try getting it from ebay powerbulbs, it cheaper then powerbulbs uk direct.
