I'm looking at putting the battery in the boot because of the room that i need for the intercooler piping. any hints or special tool required. from the search on the net basically what i need to do is 0 gauge cable from the engine bay to the boot. ground the earth in the engine bay and battery box vented in the boot with a decent fuse.

I have a supercharge gold battery, would this be fine in a battery box?

It should be fine in a battery box. Although, while at it, why not get a decent battery while your at it? Like a Optima yellowtop?

Also will need 0g Earth to the chassis in the boot. Probably a distribution block aswell to put your standard + wires into it. i.e. fusebox and starter motor

TUFFTR pretty much has it down pat, i would also recommend a sealed battery (eg: optima, yellow top or even a red to be cheap) so you dont have to worry about how you mount it.

Definitely go Optima battery and Moroso battery box.

supercharge gold are quality stuff. no point in getting anything new if you just got it. just buy/fabricate a batt box to keep it sturdy, run a good 200A ANL fuse onto 0GA wiring to the front, cut off the existing +ve terminal in the engine bay and run it into a protected junction box into the 0ga cable, and redo the ground and youll be laughin

I think for what I have read that the cable that goes to the boot battery needs to be outside of the cabin ie under the car. But madmagna will know more about the rules :)

when i fitted my battery in the boot of my old silvia i also fitted a insulated battery post in the front of the engine bay incase you need a point to jump from...

Sealed battery in the boot means no need to ventilate it.

Good point about an insulated jumping point!
