I have a TE V6 3.0L Magna and 2 weeks ago it all of a sudden just wouldnt start then randomly it started

the car then would sometimes start and sometimes not

i went to an auto mechanic and they connected there computer and found an error message to be the immobiliser stopping the car from starting and it just cranking over forever

i have talked to some wreckers and they they said it has a been a bit of a common problem that the contacts inside the immobiliser module corrode so i bought a second hand one and now need help to recode it to my key

anyone know how to do this???

I'm pretty sure you need to visit ur mitsu dealer for recoding.

if you have a spare you dont use much switch over to that and see if you still have the problem

You do not need to visit a dealer, I also have a MUTII so I can code keys HOWEVER you have several issues

For starters the keys can only be coded into a single immob box, once set into one box, they can not be coded into another box. Now I know this is 100% for TH onwards, am 99% for TE and TF as well but would not hurt to try

I do have a ECU, Receiver and key avail for sale if this helps, you can do this one of a few ways, get a new Key from Mts, non coded but cut to your Vin and then I can code it to this set. remember the ECU and receiver need to match. Although there were not as many receiver codes so often you will luck to one that will work in another car but this is not always the case.

Feel fre to give me a call if you want to discuss as is far easier over the phone to explain

On a last note, check the contacts on your transponder ring (around the ignition switch) to make sure is not a dry contact as this can cause the same issue and is far more common
