I currently own a 2002 tj2 magna executive.

The place where I work has a traded in 2003 tl vr 5spd manuel with 44,000 ks on clock.

What u guys think, there asking ~11000 but seeing as hasnt been snatched up by wholesalers yet could get cheaper.

Really considering buying this.

With that amount of low k's its a pretty good price.....but at that age.....you'd want to change the belt anyway for piece of mind.
Alas....look out on carsales, ebay and whatknot for other deals...but low k's and manual....that is a pretty good price!

its a pretty good buy for such low kms if you could bargain it down, it would be a bonus, but i'd be fairly happy with that price

you would9 probably be about 5k out of pocket, before rego, if your current car has around 160k on it. is 5k a good price for the upgrade? (ie, new lights, manual box, less kms) if you think it is, then go for it.

just another question whats the difference between vr and vr-x and how much more power would i get by fitting 2-5" inch exhaust catback and extractors compared to mine now and what power gains could i get from the new car?

They have identical running gear bar the wheels and tyres. Same power. Other than that the VRX had different trim, premium sound, body kit and thats about it. You will get a gain from extractors but probably only 2 to 3 kw at the wheels.

power you would get extra with the zorst is likely around 5-8% at the fly of your lucky, not much extra power, but the way the cars drive in comparison will be much different.
the tl will be much faster and reponsive, due to the fact that there is now big fat auto to hold it back. it will be from around a 16 second 1/4 mile to a low 15 second quater, like 15.1 after the exhuast.

as for the differences between vr and vrx, i have nfi.

You'd be better off leaving the stock exhaust (which is already high flowing on this model) and just fitting the extractors *if* you wanted a little extra power. Wasting money otherwise.
