Just put a deposit on a 380GT.
2005 Model
110k
Dark Blue
Sweet looking ride, just waiting on them to provide electronic service history, as log books werent there, I think it was a repo. Mainly worried about the timing belt and tranny. Not keen to spend another few grand just after I buy it.
There were a few scratches and chips in the paint work, but they seem to think they can get rid of all that, deposit was on the condition that it comes back to almost new, subject to my approval.
Just under $15k, needless to say I am stoked.
Couldnt see any pics of the dark blue one on here, but will have another look.
Cant wait!!!!

Good work! Thats a pretty good buy.
At the most, you are probably looking around $1100 to do the 100000/105000km service if it hasnt been done. An auto trans flush is included in that price as well.

Not to sure whether I will transplant the carpc over tho, like it just the way it is.

congratulations mate. You won't be disappointed. As mecha already said bring gt out and get GT numbers up for NSW. Blue is a GT colour you don't see everyday. Well done :)

Anything else I need to know before sale day?
I see a lot of ppl put aftermarket bluetooth, is the stock one pretty crap?
SO many questions to ask, been doing a lot of reading lately.
Have to sell the old TE now too, didnt want to trade it, they offered SFA!
I wont be taking it if they cant bring it up to scratch. All the others are like 17k+. But if the paint on this is sub standard will probably go for a different one. Havent seen any other this colour tho.
But if I was going to spend around $18k thats almost enough for a new paint job anyway.

I looked at a blue one before i got my Black one,but the paint work was scratched to buggery, and mmm..Blue cars just dont do it for me...factory bluetooth is fine, never had an issue with mine.
..check out the 380 forums for all the must do things..." LOVE THAT CAR "

BT is fine, some phones are a PITA especially NOKIA for some reason
The paintwork is it just fine scratches that a detail will fix ??
A GT really is around 18K+ so you have got a bargain regardless

Yeah, mainly fine scratches, there are a couple of very small chips on the side doors, and a few more scratches on the lip of the bumper below the boot. That and a tinty little tear in the side of the leather seat, not to happy with that, but they are sending it to their upholsterer to fix

Its been there for a few months and he said it was a repo, so they dont really care how much they sell it for, they already made their money. Then again, who beleives a salesman.
Besides everyone else prefers a lower end Commodore, nfi why, took one of them for a drive wasnt impressed. The Ford wasnt to bad, but expensive for the Ghia!
How is 15k for a 110kms GT a bargain?

How is 15k for a 110kms GT a bargain?
in NSW most are going for 18K + with similar Kms
WA however very different
110K kms is just a number with modern engines IMO
I take that back after a quick interweb search. seems the GT has gone UP in value over the last 6 months! eek!
Time to sell my 50kms VRX for a profit! *squeal*

Pick up my 380GT tomorrow or Friday.
Thanks for all your help.... Did some serious forum scouring.
Just have to give final approval. Car has had a full detail and service, just waiting on the upholsterer to fix a tiny tear in the side of one of the leather seats. Not to fussed about the tear, its small and in a hidden spot, but when ya buy a car ya want everything to be perfect.
Firs mod, the galant snorkel asap.
I saw some darker galant tail lights too. They are from a galant 360, what is that???

and WTF are these? Look sweet, different rear bar tho.

Yeah, on a dark car the tail lights of the vrx/gt dont quite look like they belong there.
They are nice, but the galant ones would look sweet as. Your 380 is about the perfect colour for the stock vrx/gt tail lights tho.
I actually wasnt a fan of the 380 in general, was looking to get an TL AWD, just didnt like the front end. But as I was looking around at the 3rd gen AWD's, the 380 really grew on me, absolutely love the look of them now!!!
Can't wait to get on the road!!!
Hoping to take it on the NSW cruise, my nieces B'day is that weekend, hope its on the Sunday. (Got my priorities straight)

Don't mind that rear bar or those lights. Galant 360 is refers to the viewing angle of the photos.

Pretty dodgy license plate, but at least he picked a good car.
Edit: Car wont be ready until tomorrow or saturday! damnit.
They painted the rear bar, as it was pretty scratched, after they buffed and washed it someone scrathced it again. They just repainted that and have it under heat lamps now.

By the time I stopped driving I only got a few shots in, here is one. Will upload a few more to the "Post your ride" thread tomorrow.
Blacked the license plate out as it is on imgur.com
There is a lot of mist in the right hand side light, but that should be covered under factory warranty, I think.

Yeah, I think I will hit up mitsu, only got a few months warranty left.
Need to get a few things done....
BT is very crackly, quite crap from what others tell me. Also the radio is a bit average, lots of static.
I am sure there will be a couple other little things, but I dont want to pay for them, so have to diagnose it all and get it done asap!

hey nice car - have exactly the same model, colour and year. They are great value for the money.
Are you sure you only have a couple of months left on the warranty? Mine was also built in 2005 but not registered until late in 2006. You might find yours is the same thing.

Was first registered in December '05 I think....
Just went for a drive down Grand Pacifc road. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! had a nice cruise with some guy in one of those new little Alfa's.
After we stopped he came up and was cheking out the car, "This thing is awesome"
He said he had to drive the ring off his car to keep up sometimes. Wasnt speeding either, just hammering through the slow corners....
Handles SOOO much better than the old TE, it was loving the slow 15km hairpins. Even the GF enjoyed it, not once did I hear "Slow down".
Cant wait to stick on the 90mm intake and do the resonator mod!
Edit: When are they changing the name to Aussie 380 club?
