Hi all, i have a tw magna. I am interested in updating the wheels. I've spotted some xhp 18" x 8" gonig reasonably cheap, does anyone know if they will fit without doing any mods? Cheers for any help/ advice you can give.

hey
i have 18's, 235's x 40 x 18 which is 9.5" if my maths is correct, no problems. People go bigger and fatter, but then you'd have to roll gards and such.

so no probs going 8" wide.

As long as the offset is around +35 to +38. I run 18 x 8 with a +35 offset on my TL AWD VRX. Sit's inside the guard nicely, and I'm lowered.

Yup, as long as its around the +35/+38 offset you should be fine. I have 18x8s (+38) with 235/40R18s and lowered on King Lows and I opted to roll my guards - you may not need to, but I'd be prepared to. No dramas apart from that though.

i have 19''x8'' seem to fit fine. Although on the rear the tyre is fairly close to rubbing on one of the rear support arms, maybe only 5mm in it. So wouldnt recommend going any wider

cheers guys, its a private sale and i didnt want to be stuck with rims i couldnt use... can i put a straight edge across the front of the rim and use verniers to measusure back to the mounting face to work out the offset? the guy that has them has no idea...

The offset is normally stamped inside the rim on either the spoke or the face of the rim where the hub sits.

Just to go further on this one if I could.

I have 19 * 8s on my car - and I do NOT have 5mm of clearance to the controll arm.
I have a bee's dick of clearance there on both sides.
I have no idea what my offset is though - which will be why mine seems to sit close to the arms at the back there... (its not stamped on the inside face / spoke / hub of my wheels either to check :S)
Learnt not to get a slow leak - unless I want the inside tyre wall to rub against that arm....

Its all in the offset - make sure you get the right offset, and you should be fine

The offset will be stamped on the inside if the rim
