I find this a very interesting topic but the internet surprisingly (well by google) hasn't enlightened me much on how to use one for an OHC engine.
Can anyone here explain, how to use one properly? I would love to find out the nitty gritty and if the camshafts are actually where they are supposed to be. Adjustable cam gears help which is why I'm keen to find out.
Even links to tut's. Would be very helpful to more then a few.

Good question. I will try to do a tech post on it for everyone in the next couple of weeks. I just take it for granted, yes it wouuld be very confuseing the first few times.
Try one of the popular american cam manufactureing sights I'm sure one of them has a how to degree section that is quiet good. Don't dismiss it because it's a push rod thing, remember it's called valve timing not the way the cam is driven. Just concerntrate on crank degrees and valve lift and make sure you have a zero lash lifter and rocker arm assembly.

I had a few other things at the time to keep busy with, as with owning 2 older cars there is always something to fix, modify, change etc you know how it is. I did have a read and seen that you need the dial gauge? I think...
it will be a while before i can degree them in 100% as rocker cover will need to come off intake etc so it is a "soon to do" thing so it can wait until you can do a write up. Was just interested to see if you did it any other way to whats on the net or any tips and tricks when doing it but yeah...no rush!
