Hi there. This may have been already covered but after two hours of searching I can't find the answer.

Does the front engine roll mount (behind radiator) on a TS V6 have a big through hole and a much smaller diameter bolt? Should there be some sort of spacer or bush to hold the bolt in the centre or is the mount just held in place by the through bolt pulling the engine bracket in tight around it? The bolt is the right size for the holes in the engine bracket.

I hope that makes some sense to someone.

No spacer or bush, Bolt just slides right in and locks in at the end

So does that mean it was designed to bounce up and down a quarter inch around the bolt and make clunk noises when the bolt works itself a little loose?

Stuffed if I know how/why it was designed!

Why is it loose? I've never had one come loose on me :S

Thanks TUFFTR for confirming there were no parts missing.

I only got the car recently so I cant vouch for all of its life, everything seamed fine at the time I got it, no knocks or rattles.

But the last time I owned a manual car was about 15 years ago and the first few days of owning it were very interesting. I'd say I've just given it one more sharp heavy shock than it wanted. Thankfully instead of breaking it just decided to slip a little.

Well there has been a piece of rubber hose stuck in the middle of the mount to fill up the gap between the hole and the bolt. (A bit dodgy, but will do for now) All has been put back together as tight as it can be and the engine doesn’t sound like it will fall out every time I change gear at low speed.

I know, why get a manual if you are used to driving an auto? well the main reason is to give the kids a chance to learn to drive in a manual.

If you want this checked properly feel free to drop over.

The roll stop is designed that way so as to ensure when it is put on the car that the roll stop can be tightened with NO load on the front or rear roll stop, the front and rear roll stops are just that, roll stops and many people install them incorrectly

You should notice that the metal tube has small teeth at each end, this is to grip the mount bracket when done up and thus remove the risk of it slipping
