hi guys,
well after a long time away from magna's, I'm now helping a mate who has got a TS magna. He got it with no head on it, and I went looking through all my old magna parts and found a head I had reco'ed for a TP. Will it go on without changing anything, or do I have to change the cam and followers?
TIA
Michael

AFAIK, it should fit on fine as long as they are both Astron II. Could we please get a bit more info, like what cast model is the TP head? M6? M8? It just depends as the later model heads (TS M27) were alot better to use as they had better flow rates as well as roller rockers as opposed to the manual tappet heads which needed adjusting every week... *lame*...
I'm sure Magna Buff or someone will post up soon to give you a bit more help on the matter.

yes the TP head can go onto a TS 4 cyl
you have to put on the roller rockers and cam to the TP head

As above, they will go on fine, the early ones had hydrolic rockers but no rollers, the later ones had the roller rockers and cam to suit.
FOr the cost of a head from a wrecker, you are really better off getting a later series head as above stated as not only do they hvae better flow, the casting was better and less prone to soft spots as well as the better shape combustion chambers

the first gen head was one that i had reco'ed before i wrote the car off. My mate went back to the person he got the car from, and they found the head, so I will look at what condition the original head is in.
