Hey guys im wanting to add some lighting under my door trim that activates when the door is open. My question is

Even though my car is not a Verada and does not have the red in door light should i still have the wiring in the door to dot his project?

It won't have it sorry. You'll have to run the wires yourself.

im sure wont be hard to do my te had them it was a alterra though

Only models with power windows have the wiring to use with the door light, is not hard to fit if you are wanting it though

Thats annoying the means im going to have to use my wires from the foot well lights to power them, only annoying issue is running the wire through the door jam.

Shouldn't be too hard, I just made a wiring "loom" to fit a TL electric antenna to my TE which had to run from head unit to antenna!!
The door jamb should have a conduit of sorts anyway as the locks are solenoid operated, just run the wire through there..
