Went to take the car for a spin today - & nothing but first gear!

Goes in/out of P/N/R/D OK, but only ever 1st gear & wont shift at all.
No other symptoms & it was fine when i parked it a week ago?!?

Any ideas?

I'm getting rid of it so i dont have to keep working on the POS, with 4 jobs - not worth my time to do anything but drive it off a cliff or set it on fire.

Anybody got more information on this? I just bought a '92 TR Magna SE with the 2.6L 4 banger, and the transmission will go through PRND, but when driving, it will only sit in 1st gear and won't change. It appears to change when i drop the accelerator, but as soon as i put fot down slightly again, it goes back to 1st and won't change.

the tranny module is under the carpet below the radio

try a s/h one from a wrecker

also check the cable adjustment at the box
see if it is alingned with the hole being neutral
