Hey guys,
I've been searching and searching and searching and can't find anything about a K&N panel filter for the TL. I can only find this K&N filter for magnas: http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2151, but it only goes upto:
2004 MITSUBISHI DIAMANTE 3.5L V6 F/I
2003 MITSUBISHI MAGNA 3.5L V6 F/I
It doesn't look like it would fit a TL.
Has anyone fitted one on their TL? or have any info for me?
Thanks

I had a K & N panel fitted to my TL, but to be honest I wouldn't waste your money on one. I have gone back to running standard filter, as the Magna doesn't really like having the induction played with.
My Experience was purchase the K & N panel for $90 approx. End up with a flatspot. Buy fuel rail spacer rings from Barry to eliminate flat spot (more money). In the end you end up spending more $$$ for the same result that you had with the standard filter in place, which filters better anyway.
End of the day your choice.

To be quite frank, you are far better off running a clean paper filter
Dyno tests done in Adelaide have shown this, even with a freshly cleaned panel K&N filter there were a few kw loss
Heating up fuel is not a good idea in any form, mits and most car makers go to great lenghts to cool down fuel, to the extent where the 380 has a returnless fuel system so warm fuel is not returned to the tank and thus does not heat up the stored fuel.
SO if you want best results, get either a genuine or aftermarket paper panel filter, blow it out every few months and replace it every 6 months or even 12 if you do not do much driving
