i understand the differnce in capacity, but that's not the problem. i've been told they still bolt up the same.
thanks for your help though.

you will need a y-piece made up connecting the front bank to the rear bank

That is the problem. The 3.5 is a taller engine and wider engine so eventhough the individual halves can be bolted to the engine exhaust outlets separately, they wont in one piece unless you replace both secondaries/y pipe with a shorter one.

As already stated the extractors are a 2.5" made for the 3.5l. Do you have the remainder of the exhaust system too? There would be little benifit putting a 2.5" headers onto the 2" system. Amazingly thought the entire rear of the system, from the Cat back to the muffler will bolt straight onto the 2" headers for a TE. I have recently installed the TJ VRX sports exhaust onto a TE by just swapping the parts. No bending or welding required. Nice VRX growl and gives a little bit of extra power, not as much as the real thing though.

The ralliart extractors are longer than the standard headers. I'm sure an exhaust shop could make a new y peice to join them.

I can't see why he couldn't shorten your current y pipe. I've compared mine with my wife s ralliart and other than length they look identical

That is because you already have a 3.5 engine. The 3.5 is physically bigger than the 3.0 in all dimensions.

Personally I can not see any issue, Pacemaker are for fit all, they do hang about 12mm lower in the 3.0 but are again a bolt up to either engine, there are not different parts for the Pacemaker
You will most likely find that the small amount of difference by the time you go to bolt up the bottom will be fine and there will be enough movement in them to take this up, worst case you may need to make a small mod on the bottom pipe
Remember that they will hang lower but then again so do most extractors on 3.0 engines

Yea, I had the same issue when I was looking at fitting Ralliart headers to the 380. Since then I have found a pretty good exhaust place that should be able to help you out with a Y piece.
Give Exhaust Plus Stepney a call 83629102.

I knew the old owner there. My dad's neighbour. The new owner is very good as well. I had my extractors fitted there by John and later by cat by the new owner.
