Hey guys, recently started hearing some creaking noises from the front end when going over speed bumps.

I'm aware that this is probably a worn suspension bushing of some description. I'm thinking along the lines of one of the D bushings on the swaybar or one of the rubber strut tops, maybe even the lower control arm bushings?

I'm almost due to do a service on it (as soon as head office fixes this pay stuff up I'll be buying the oil and filter) so while its on the stands I'm going to try and track down the source of the noise. Anything else I should be looking at?

Cheers.

Maybe your shocks? mine used to make a similar noise when they were getting old.. and only really over speed bumps!

My car does this on a cold morning. Best bet would be to get underneath and inspect, and if everything looks OK just get some CRC and put it anywhere you can and see how it goes.

Check the stabiliser bar bushing also the link between the bar and the suspension arm. They may be dry and worn. A quick check involves spraying with water or CRC as suggested - do one joint at a time.

Is CRC friendly to Rubber components??

Silicone spray is pretty useful to quieten these pesky noises too......and in between dash panels when they sqeak........friendly on the rubber seals and bushes as well ;-)

Cheers,

Cheers for the replies guys. Hopefully I'll be able to get under there next week sometime and check it all out, the swaybar links are something I didn't think of looking at, cheers for pointing that out.

I'll let you know what I find.
