It mounts to the upwards metal dash suports center dash. but it dont realy matter, it will get better reception if under the window.

The NAV aerial was tried in a few locations,Tried this location ,still only able to get 2 satellites.Any idea where it was mounted from the factory,as it had better reception? It was removed after a heater core replacement, which killed the BEM.Nepean Motor group in Penrith NSW replaced this with a hi spec one from Japan and a new keyring antenna for 535 dollars. The service was fantastic and they couldnt do enough for me.Recommend them to anyone especially the service advisor Sam,who was really on the ball.

The sat nav aerial on my KJ GTV is a square pad approx 5cm square. Its located on top of the instrument cluster held by double sided tape. Its looks factory install to me.

Basically behind where your climate controls are, there is a cross(horizontal) pipe looking support. To the left there is two nuts which if you measure up will be the same gap as your bracket, the antenna box goes towards the top basically sitting under the dash pad.
Hope this helps.
P.S. I somehow don't think double sided tape would be factory.... lol
