I have a KH which gives you the 3 warning beeps if the doors/boot/bonnet are open when you try to lock the car.
I have just bough a KJ series 2 that doesnt beep when the bonnet is open when you try to lock the car. The doors and boot still beep but not the bonnet.
Took it back to Mitsubishi and they tried to tell me that this feature doesnt exist on the series 2 KJ's, yet the switch and wiring is all there for the alarm.
Can anyone try this for me.
Thanks.

My TH will not beep when the bonnet is open, only doors and boot.

Yeah I am sure the 2003 TJII AWD Sport does it.
I will test it at lunch.

That is interesting Blake. My VRX is exactly the same series as yours....but it doesn't beep when I leave the bonnet open?
I checked the switch to see if it is operating correctly. I opened the bonnet, held the switch down, locked the doors, waited for the alarm to activate (the security light goes out to indicate it's active) I then released the switch and the alarm went off...
So the switch appears to be working correctly?
It will, however, warn if the doors or boot are open and I try to lock it?

hrrrmmm strange. I only noticed it when installing my stereo, I had left the bonnet open and all the doors, boot closed and it beeped. Perhaps i'll try again on the weekend.

Thanks guys.
Yeah the guy at mitsubishi said that the alarm still works but it doesnt give you the warning horn beeps on the Series 2. Just seemed strange that they would discontinue it on a later model for some reason. Couldnt be a reason for it as far as i can see.
Will try the alarm by holding the button down and locking the car and waiting for the security light to go off then let go to see if it works.
Just strange that they would stop it, thats all.
Thanks again guys.
