I have recently purchased a KF verada and I must admit I really like the car. Now I have a few issues with the car and I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Nothing major, i just like to keep things running well!

Firstly- When I turn on the car and rotate the steering wheel it make a pretty annoying whine, never soft though! I need to turn down the music to hear it. It’s not the cv joint clicking or anything like that. Any ideas? Could it be a loose power stearing belt.....

Secondly- Never annoying! OIL LEAK. It is very minor and enough to piss me off. Recently the car had new cam and crank seal (part of timing belt kit) and rocket cover gasket. I have noticed though that there is a small leak coming from the oil filter. Now obviously i’m going to tighten it up but i have noticed its on the alternator too. Any suggestion where it could be coming from (can it something apart from the filter)? Can someone please confirm that only it could be leaking from the filter, stump plug, oil plan or rear main seal (sure it’s not!) if the oil is at the bottom of the engine?

have you checked your powersteer fluid if low can make a whine noise may also be leaking coausing the oil leak

i'm pretty sure the power stearing level is fine and the oil leak 100% engine oil.

Thanks for the advise, i'll double check to power stearing levels tomorrow evening :)

Give it a real good clean down in that area, when the Rocker Cover gaskets were done, were all the breathers and PCV cleaned properly

honestly not sure as i didn't do it myself. It was done as part of the RWC and the previous owner done it for me.

Where are the areas i need to look at?

ok so i checked last night and its not coming from the oil filter. It appear to coming from a higher point.

Are there any hoses above the alternator region?
