Had my automatic trannie pack it in, installed a good secondhand unit, and gave it a flush, replaced the fluid and filter. Took it for a test drive, for a while thought Id purchased a dud box. Couldnt go faster than 80-90kph, there was very little in the way of acceleration, and would almost die when you put the foot down.

I think this is something rather important to consider when having what you think may be a dodgy transmission with shifting problems etc. Make sure the engine is tuned up. It was amazing, I replaced the front bank of spark plugs, and gave the throttle body a good dose of Nulon throttle body cleaner while te engine is running, and took it for anothr drive, and it drove bsolutely sweet. The gears changed superbly.
