Hi Guys!!

Noticed a couple weeks ago that on my Wife's Trip Computer that the Avg Fuel was 14.5l/100, which I thought was pretty High!! I reset the Trip computer and had a look at it again yesterday, and it was showing 14.3...

Most of her driving is just local, an she is definitaly not a lead foot!!

Any Ideas what to look for... Has recently clicked over 112,000km, and has had all it's services done at Mitsubishi..

Thanks Guys!!

Milo! :D

what is her average km/hr?
at ~30km/hr that would be about right

Hiya Milo........just one question really, i know you said all the services are up to date, but worth checking anyway.....has the Air Filter been changed lately......just pop it out and see what kind of colour the front of it is and if there's any dust build up.......take it out and gently tap the face against the sole of your shoe......i do this quite regularly and u'd be surprised by what comes out. Other than that.....did they do the plugs at 100k?.......and lastly,...have u been using a different servo lately......all possibles really......and it's weird how sometimes the computer can show that reading.....reset it a couple of times whilst on the move and see what it does then.....but as magwheels said it's only a rough guide......look at the total k's travelled, and how many litres u put in on the next fill,

Cheers,

Pug.

Short trips are a nightmare for fuel consumption, especially if the engine is not getting a chance to warm up properly.

Cold winter, short trips = poor economy. Worth checking that the temp gets to normal after a km or 3, if the thermostat is partially open it will make economy worse.

I do all the Checks inbetween services.... Filters, Tyre Pressures, etc, anything that Would affect Fuel Consumption... And, judging by the Km/tank, the Trip Computer is pretty Close...
Plug were Done at the Major Service at 100000km....
As said by others Above..... THats what to Expect!!.... Oh Well. Shit Happens!! :D

Cheers Guys..
