Hi All,
Mate has a TE magna and wants to install the another cd player. it currently has a pioneer mp3 player in there but he wants to install a jvc head unit that has bluetooth ipod blah blah. Does anyone have a guide etc for everything or know of a plug that converts pioneer to fit jvc etc? i believe the original harness has been cut out and the pioneer one has been solders, spliced and heatshrinked in.
thanks

umm your best bet is to cut into where the wire was done before
done one wire at a time
follow the wires from the back of the headunit and match the wires up
u cant stuff up unless the old headunit was put in wrong
or if that fails look back at this
Batt + Red with black
Acc blue
Gnd black
FLH: +WHITE with BLUE..... - BLACK with BLUE
FRH: +WHITE with RED...... - BLACK with RED
RLH: +YELLOW with BLUE... - GREEN with YELLOW
RRH: +YELLOW with RED.... - GREEN with RED

Generally most aftermarket units will use the same color codes for the main points eg:
Red: Acc
Yellow: Battery (Should be fused)
Black: Ground
Blue or similar: Remote.
Cut the wires and get youself a multimeter. Test for 12v when the ign is off and theres your battery. Switch the ignition on and test all but that first one for 12v and that is your Acc cable. Then the ground and remote (if running and amp) will be a piece of cake.

Also check out AeroPro (http://www.aerpro.com.au/list.php?cat_name=harnesses&cat_no=10&cat_sno=) they make the converter plugs for different stereos, usually can also be bought from Auto One etc

Does anyone know if your after market cd player is screwed in the chassis (drive bay)?? the new cd player from jvc doesnt seem to have any places to screw the drive into the cradle that holds it, it seems to just click in place. is that how it should be? my old pioneer had 1 screw on the left that screw it together. jvc unit didnt come with any screws if that helps
thanks

Some can clip in yes, other wise just drill some new holes but that would be pointless.

I personally would but make sure the screws arent too long or sharp.
Its really up to you, if it holds fine with just the clips though it comes down to how lazy you are lol.
