when measuring the run out im my discs i noticed the suspension boots looked shaged, the steering ones are split and falling to pieces and some of the other things dont look so good. the CV's look ok but i dont know. is there any way to inspect the ball joints without taking the control arm apart?
the steering boots should be ok to install as far as i can see but im very concerned about the suspension because as far as i can see i need to take the whole spring and strut out to do it?
wheres the best place to get the replacements. im thinking repco or bursons?
also the transaxel oil is a bit low. can you but 1L to top up with and do i need to go to mitsubishi or will they have it at repco / bursons?
last but not least what have you guys found as the best coolant / inhibitor to run?
thanks a million!
regards jay

rock steering side to side to check tie rods for wear
if the boots are torn fit new tierods then get a wheel alignment

if the steering rack boots are torn they get done with the tie rods off

also check the lower ball joint boots same thing renew if boots are broken

gearbox oil just use a 80 or 90 diff/gearbox oil (for a manual gearbox)

shocker boots
are held in place with a bump stop this is a mitsi genuine part
and large spring compressers are needed to fit new bump stops

coolant I use castrol concentrate two litres and top up with water

thanks allot for the lightning reply!
so thats oil grade is for the auto? i just remembered i got a manual from the wreckers and it says 'dexron II automatic transmission fluid'. i have some from the falcon thats tranny / power steering but i think that is dexTron and is a yellow oil were as whats in there is red. i think i will do a flush and filters but seeing as ill have the whole engine out in a few months i dont know weather or not its better to wait to then so i dont have to do it twice because i dont have allot of cash in any case.
as to steering eBay has change over racks for $125 so would it be almost cheaper that way once i buy tie rods and boots?
thanks allot once again.

sorry thought you had a manual box

use only mitsubishi automatic oil you get 5 litres
its cheaper than the off the shelf brands

the power steering oil is again mitsubishi brand \
but I have used dexron 2 or 3 for a top up

the rack ebay price is terrific
