Gday.

I have a TP with an Alpine 9815 headunit (60x4 28WRMS) with amped 6" Sony 3ways in the front (getting components soon). Neways in the back I have 2 Alpine 3way 6x9s and a 12" Sub. I have 2 more subs and an amp for them seperatley and would like some advice on wether it would be better to have 3 subs and the 6x9s running off the head. OR 2 subs and have the 6x9s amped?
The 6x9s go pretty harsh at the moment with no distortion up loud and I have been reccomended both setups by people at caraudio shops...

Thanx for ne help!

i would say amp both, if you want max sound quality

if not, amp the subs

haha cool....I already have 4 subs on my computer....I love bass what can I say. I have 2 subs in my other car and that puts out heaps better bass quality than just one by itself. I do want sound quality so I'll brob go with 2 subs and amp the 6x9s and maybe put coils on them to cut out the highs that muck up the staging.

But just incase I decide I have enough $$$ to amp the 6x9s and have 3 subs, how much roughly is an Alpine (or similar quality) 2x60-100WRMS amp?

Thanx 4 the help.

Old Alpine V12 2 channel MRV-T320 $499 80WRMSx 2. Dude really you dont need all that power for the 6x9's. Something as small as a 35WRMS or 40WRMSx 2 amp will do and im sure off your headunit you are running them through a HPF so just save your money and but 1 big sub.. like a IDMAX or 9915 something. :D

The computer goes off. Iv got a Hercules Gametheatre 7.1 with 1x Hercules 510 5.1 speakers, and 3x Logitech z340, I used to have an old 100w 240v amp with a sony12" in a box going aswell. The sony went off its head, playing games with meaty machinegun sounds, it was awesome. I ended up sellin the sub to my bro cause the amp died. I totally recommend having a 12" sub behind your back when playing counterstrike, nothing else like it!

Oh yeah Iv decided that Mr İharisma is pretty right in saying that the 6x9s dont really need much more than 30WRMS, I amped them with 75WRMS and there was not a lot of diff, a bit louder but it could be matched by the headunit. Im putting the dual sub box in tomorrow with a cap (1fd) and a 2channel 800w Fly amp (I know its not great quality but its good bang for buck).
