Hey guys the boot rod/lock solenoid for my magna has broken off where ever it mounts and now is hanging down. If no one knows it black and white and has a gold bracket on it and has a thick wire coming out one end.
I was wondering if i can get pics of where and how it mounts to my boot will open remotely again.
Cheers

never looked into ito before , so the boot release is operated by a remote solenoid , connected to the lock via a cable?

My TF Exec has remote/electric boot release (with glovebox button), but not my TE Altera. I have to look into my TF, as I hear the noise passenger rear arch but the boot doesnt unlock (only manually via key), thanks for the pic, it will make life easier!

HAHAHAHAHA ummm well .... a while back when i running the grounding for my amps i saw this (knew wat it was derrr) but i ripped it out and simply screwed the motor thing to one of the holes the braket was on and it works fine :S .... is this bad?
re: the remote button not opening the boot - normally there's a little switch on the lock of the boot - this prevents it being opened remotely.
Open boot, locate and slide the switch over and see if you then have remote access.
cuicdl - when I inspected my boot release mechanism, I noticed that it makes a lot of noise, but didn't notice if it exerts much force externally. If it does then it will need to be mounted firmly. The bracket gives extra support and in my case it has the power antenna attached too.
If the solenoid /cable doesn't twist/turn/move under operation then it's probably fine. You should be able to put your hand on it and activate it - if it's moving or trying to, you'll feel it. Just don't get your hand stuck in anything.

Already tried that the problem with my solonoid now is that its broken off and bounces around and the + and - cables disconnect. Thats why i need to re mount it.
