hello
yesterday i was driving around, and suddenly my car would just die, when i stop.

as long as im driving everything is fine. this has happened before and somehow it fixed itself. but now it's annoying me as i have the press the brakes together with the accelerator when i have to stop.

Sounds like your ISC motor is stuffed.

This may help:

Search the forums for "stalling". A lot of topics regarding this.

sounds very much like its something to do with the Idle Speed Motor.

Had a similar (but completely opposite) problem which you can also find at:

oh yeah
i actually had a looks at the Idle......
and what i saw was two wires burnt the plastic bit and fused together causing it not to work. i associate that with the weather, from freezing cold to boiling hot.
i will be taking the idel.....out tomorrow and re wire it properly.
if that doesnt' work then i will have to fix it some time soon. anyway i am on holidays. another reason not to take the car out and time to fix everything in it.
thanks for your input.

My Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor died a while back. The car still drove reasonably well, but if I had the air con on it would stall when the revs dropped below 1000rpm or so. Also I had a clogged throttle body, and this made the car even more likey to stall. I had the throttle body fixed and this made the car driveable again until I eventually replaced the ISC.
