I'm looking for some tips - been trying to diagnose my Mum's car. It hasn't been run for 6 weeks whilst she was OS. Battery died during this time (Canberra winter strikes again), and was dead flat. I replaced it on the weekend. When I started it up, however, it was running *very* rough.

I checked the battery terminals - don't think it was a contact issue. The engine light came on so I pulled the ECU fault code and got 22: Crank Angle Sensor System.

AFAIK this is the 6 pin connector on the distributor? I checked it was clean, and reseated the connector, but didn't fix the problem. I'm now at the limit of my abilities to fix this one.

Anybody had a similar problem? Could this somehow be related to the battery being flat for so long?

TE (?) Magna Solara 3.0 V6, 150,000kms

Cheers,

Simon

Poss bad fuel, especially if has been sitting

have you tried to get the ecu codes to see if any issues there, also check your MAF sensor, spiders sometimes like to move in, make a nice web and block it all off

If is CAS, car will not start
