HEY DUDES,
CAN ANYONE ENLIGHTEN ME ON WHICH CABLE IN THE STOCK TACHO LOOM I NEED TO CONNECT TO, INSTEAD OF TAKING A WIRE TO THE COIL?
THE TACHO I HAV JUST BOUGHT HAS A RED, A GREEN AND A BLACK WIRE. THE RED GOES TO POWER, THE BLACK GOES TO EARTH (NEGATIVE) AND THE GREEN GOES TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THE COIL. I WOULD MUCH RATHER JUST TAP INTO THE STOCK TACHO LOOM IF I CAN.
ALSO WHAT ARE THE DASHBOARD LIGHT WIRES SO THAT I CAN HOOK THE TACHO LIGHT.
IF ANYONE KNOWS AND CAN HELP ME OUT I WOULD BE STOKED.
THANX IN ADVANCE

Shaun, im pretty sure if you run your feed of the existing tacho wiring it will be incorrect. Everyone who i've seen to do this never gets an accurate tach.
You can either run it directly off the coil which is your best option or your RPM feed from the ECU. Im not sure which wire it is of the ECU but I know manual (malcolm) and EuroAccord13 (Nick) certianly know.
And yeah magna's come with a tach, but i must admit one would be handy on the dash with a big mofo shift light so you can thrash through your gears while still keeping your eyes on the road

Just went through the same issues you are having.
If you unbolt the steering column, you will see a white wire, thats the one you are looking for. Splice into that one.

hmm - thats interesting - cos last i checked the speedo wire was a white wire with a blue stripe - thats what i used for my RSM _ but I got it from behind the centre console.

The white wire comes from Pin 10 on the ECU which is the Tachometer output.
I was going to splice from the ECU and Pin 10 until i found the white wire.
Works fine on my shift light.
