Hey guys

I’m new here and was hoping someone could help me out with a problem.

I had to rebuild my carby after the vent valve seal failed and filled my float with charcoal. The problem is that while I was removing the accelerator discharge weight and the plug beside it out of the plastic body, I was attacked by a freaking huge spider.

After the ordeal I had both the discharge weight and plug in my hand, but only one ball bearing. I searched my shed floor with an old sub magnet and found another bearing but it’s the same size as the one I already had, Are they meant to be the same size? I thought the discharge weight ball was smaller?

Thanks for any help

Thanks magna buff, I tried the ball that’s the same size and couldn’t get a rich enough mixture to run the car with the choke open.

I found a workshop pdf for this carb and a few others. Going to go look through it and see if I can find any more info, will let you know how I go.

was there any charcole caught under the
factory set idle jet in the rear base (part 92)
of the carby under the plug
factory setting is about 3 and 1/2 turns from seat
found old carby to take apart just in case:ninja:

None down there, it all stayed in the float but I completely cleaned out the entire carby anyway.

Just pulled it apart again and noticed that the crapy gasmiser gasket between the body and the throttle plate is missing two holes, going to make my own and stick it back together now.

EDIT:
3 and 1/2 was pretty spot on, seems to purr like a kitten now!
I’m going to tune it up in the morning. Cheers for the info
