Downloading the book tomorrow to have a look through, but has anyone done compression testing/have any tips? So far im thinking:
1.Remove spark plugs, keep them in the leads (labelled where they go), and ground to engine.
2.Remove radiator cap (engine hot so thermostat is open) to check for bubbles incase of any head gasket issues
3.Unplug/disable fuel injectors so its not squirting fuel everywhere
4. -? Can I remove the intake to get to the rear bank to test for compression, or will turning it over with everything taken off do bad things to the engine? The only problem I can think of is dirt being sucked in or dropping something in the engine.

Anything else i should watch out for or anything to do while im back there apart from a good wash of my plastic bits and clearing any oil from the intake?

Re 1.....probably easier and safer to disconnect distributor connector which will stop ignition.
Re 2.....you won't get bubbles with plugs removed as you have no compression plus you should not remove cap when engine is hot as very hot coolant will spray everywhere and also thermostat will probably not be open.
Re 3....better to remove fuel pump fuse or relay.

As for the rest I cannot help you as I haven't done this yet. Sorry if I seem to only supply negatives. Good Luck.

Those ideas seem easier, and I heard that you would see bubbles if there was a leak between the cylinder being tested (and on compression as the spark plug hole is plugged up) and the cooling system, either by carefully removing the cap and letting it de-pressurise, or by running it with the cap off untill hot.

Just remove the manifold, make sure nothing falls down and DONT cover.

Disc the CAS and then test away
