It seems our little Magna TR is becoming very sluggish when it's cold. It seems to be slowly getting worse. It's a bit of a concern as we need to cross a busy highway first thing in the morning. Someone suggested it could be the automatic choke playing up, could this be the case? If so what sort of cost am I looking at to get this repaired by the mechanics?

Probably not the issue, but how quickly does it warm up? If it takes an inordinately long time (say longer than 2min?), could need a thermostat replacement, which you can do yourself in about 10min for about $30.
I don't know anything about automatic chokes, so no help from me there.

How does it go when warmed up? Might be a safer option in the meantime to get up 5min earlier and let her warm up before making the dash-of-death.
