Well i had my last exam this morning so ALL today i finally got around to upgrading the speaker wiring to my front speakers, and basically clean my car up (i have been driving it with **** everywhere, no door trims, wires all over the place, etc.).

****ING GLAD its over! getting new ****in wires through the door is such a *****! :doubt:
But all worth it when it looks all so nice and neat now :D

Anyways that is all, time for sleep

Use the stock wiring, its a billion times easier.

I remember trying to rewire my splits and it was mission impossible!!!

bah, i thought of it as a challenge, hehe.

I used only 16 gauge speaker wire but **** it has lots of insulation crap. I saw some stinger 12 gauge speaker wire at JB which looked thinner overall (wire plus insulation). Probably should of used that but f#$K paying $6 a metre!
What i really should of bought is a 20 metre pack of 12 gauge speaker wire at Repco for $36 = $1.80 per metre

Just on that note, I noticed something surprising while looking at Repco today. Amp installion kits, RCA leads, speaker wire, etc, is A LOT cheaper at Repco than anywhere else! Im talking exactly the same amp installation kit (5 metres 8 gauge power wire, 8 gauge ground wire, 60amp fuse with holder, 5metres rcas, 10metres 16 gauge speaker wire, etc) for $31 at Repco, $60 and JB and Strathfield.

From one of my other threads:

I made a simple tool from a coathanger wire - Just take 4" or so of coathanger wire, then solder whatever speaker wire you want to feed onto the end of it. Poke the hanger wire through the grommet and the speaker wire pulls right through. Easy! P.S. Skylines and Hondas are a PAIN to route through door grommets, they use a DIN style plug that requires much butchering to run new wire.

Takes 5mins per door.
