Would anyone know how many TP elite wagons and sedans were built? I'm curious as I used to spot the odd elite wagon around on my travels, ( A bloke I know owned a nice one in the mid 90's), but haven't seen one on the road (or advertised) for ages now. I see first gen elite sedans around a bit (although not as common as they used to be either); the wagon variety seems to have become a rare sighting. (Anyone else noticed this, or has it always been the case ?). Any facts on the build numbers would be appreciated.

I don't know how many were built but I can confirm your observation. Good ones are very hard to find. I've been looking for one for almost a year. I went to look at a couple but they were tatty. Admittedly I'm very picky but there would be no point in buying one worse than what I have (TP executive wagon and sedan). There are more in Victoria and SA than in NSW. so you're in the best state to find them.

It's interesting that you noticed this as well. I have travelled through SA (VIC border to southern peninsula and central Adelaide). VIC (mainly central, Melbourne, Northern and Western parts) ACT, (Canberra city) and NSW central from Albury to Dubbo, Bathurst, Blue mountains, Sydney and coast over the last few years and have kept an eye out for the wagon version of the elite. No sightings. Sedans are still around but it seems, not in big numbers. I actually saw a fairly clean straight sedan (blue and sliver) in Black Rock Vic yesterday and another one (red and silver) in Ballarat tonight. But No Wagons!!! Mustn’t have been as popular as the sedan? (Could this have been due to the fairly exorbitant price of them back in 1990?) Good luck with your search for a good wagon. the only way to tell would be find as many vin numbers for the very late 91 elite wagons as the last 6 digits of the vin is the body number. This would indicate how many where made in an elite wagon, but would only include the TP not the TN elite wagon youd need to find a late 89 elite wagon too
