The wife was saying her TS V6 sedan was running rough when she starts it sometimes. Well finally had a look and it seems to be missing on one cylinder for a short time - maybe 10 to 30secs - and then will clear itself and run perfectly and smoothly until next start up. Occaisionally it will start just fine without missing. Has been a great car really and serviced regularly and is on about 220Ks.

Changed the plugs on the weekend but same problem.

Could this be an injector playing up. How could I test for that? Hopefully its not water in a cylinder....

Thanks.

Have you tried removing a lead, one at a time to find out which cylinder it is. then check to see if you have spark on that lead ? Condensation in the dizzy ? sticking lifter.... bump I know someone who is having a similar prob on a carburettor motor

Check that the plug leads are on properly, and check that they are pushed into the distributor far enough. Check them for correct resistance with a multimeter. Could be just a damaged plug lead. Perhaps wait til dark and start it from cold with the bonnet up, and look for sparks jumping from the lead(s) to earth somewhere? I've got the same car, engine and Km. Its really easy to jam the lead between the plug and head, rather than onto the plug itself. No kidding!
