Greetings All.

Im planning to replace my front speakers with some aftermarket 6.5" ones. BUT Id have to replace the inner door skin with MDF, and sound proof the doors to stop the rattleing & Replace the stock wiring with some decent stuff. Has anyone done this? Hard? Expensive?

Cheers,

I put some alpine type s two ways (6 1/2in) in the other day i didn't do any sound proofing i just screwed them straight in but the wiring was pretty tricky getting it through that rubber grommet thing near the door hinges, i used a coat hanger and a lot of patience.

i'm not sure if u need to replace inner door skins coz i'm sure the white plastic stuff is easy to drill thru, hence u can make ur own holes easily if u wanted to mount speakers.

6.5 inch speakers will screw straight in, white plastic mounting is easy to drill into yet strong enough to hold the speaker nice and sturdy. And theres no real need to replace stock wires unless your putting together a $10 000 sound system or you are going to be running a hell of alot of power into the front speakers. I run my Pioneer splits off 60 watts RMS each and they sound great on factory wires.
