View Full Version : VRX white dials into base model 380?

Anyone know if this can be done?

And yes, I have searched, couldn't find a single mention of this for a 380.

I've had the instrument cluster out, a piece of cake to remove and 'crack open', and the base model black dials are simply a loose piece of plastic.

So can that piece of plastic simply be swapped over for a VRX white dial piece?

Does everything line up?

Or is there more to it than that?

PS - I'm talking manual not auto.

KJ.

Cracked open the instrument cluster again and had a good look.

No way to get the black plastic dial face piece off without removing all four needles, and not confident this can be done without breaking/stuffing them.

And the local dealer reckons it's not possible to buy the dial face piece (white or otherwise) by itself, the only solution is to buy a complete new instrument cluster.

At $400+, and you lose your ODO reading, no thanks!

So the answer is it can be done but it's not worth the cost & hassle.

Only feasible & cost effective solution would be to buy a manual VRX cluster from a wrecker with almost identical kms on it. One chance in a million!

Oh well, looks like I'm stuck with black dials.

Then again the series 1 and 2 GTs came with black dials, only fake carbon fibre look, and you can hardly tell the difference between them and the pov pack dials.

I'll just pretend I have the only manual GT cluster on the planet!

Hey dont giveup. Couple of tubes of whiteout should fix it. Shouldnt take long to paint around the numbers with a steady hand
