when i ran two amps 800watt each i just got one power cable rated at 1600watt or around abouts and split it to both the amps then earthed them out like you normally would , worked perfectly fine on my normal battery aswell

It'll depend entirely on what amps you're running and how much power they draw. I personally run 2 gauge from the battery to the distribution block, then 4 gauge into each of my amps (4x75w speaker amp, 600w mono - both Alpine V12). I used to run 4/8 gauge respectively but it was a bit borderline. If in doubt I'd go the next size up.

i got a normal Apollo battery 4 awg and two 900watt amp which is the limit, if i was to get big amps or a speaker amp ill need to upgrade at least the cable

yeh you can use the same battery but i wouldnt be pumping that music while the car is off. lol past experience with running my system and the subs going, without car running = drained battery

Hey mate,

The best way to get an idea on current draw is to add up all the fuses on your amp(s).

Other thing you need to fact in is the length of run. Only then can you work out what thickness you need.

If your battery is in good condition, simple earthing upgrades should yield good results and minimal "dancing headlights".
