I am just about to put my car in for a warranty check up....

It has foggy headlights, bluetooth is unbearable for other parties, apparently its very staticy.
ALL of the lights are out in the centre AUTO display thingo.
The dash lights go dim all the time. If i just touch the dash know to adjust brightness it changes.
Radio has a bit of static when demister is on, only every now and then.

Anything else I should take a look at? (Or just claim for the hell of it as its out of warranty in November)

CLAIM CLAIM CLAIM. i got both head lights replaced, just waiting on fog lights to come in now steering wheel buttons replaced blue tooth replaced 3 times new rubber seals on doors badge's at the back replaced plastics on sides of both front seats im sure there is plenty i've just forgotten. My lights around the selector don't all work they said there globes and not covered under warranty and my dash did the same thing where it goes dim then bright they hooked it us and found nothing. Make the most of this wonderful thing i call WARRANTY :)

Well, booked in for warranty tomorrow,

The GF is taking in the car, hope they don't stuff her around!

Anything else anyone can think of that I should get them to do? I have my list, above just wondering if there is anything else that I should get replaced "just in case".\
Is there anything ZI should check before I take it in?

Its the last chance I have warranty runs out in November!

Edit: How long does it usually take to do the above repairs?

it all depends on what parts they have on hand... for my headlights i had to wait a week for parts to come and my emission control valve was on back order for over 6 months

Emission control?

How did ya know there was something wrong with that?
Do they do a full inspection? Or just fix what ya complain about?

there was a weird ticking noise that wasnt the lifters like they thought... got them to look into it and they found that the emission control valve was sticking to something and caused the ticking like sound

EDIT: found the thread about this.....http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78695&highlight=

Cool, thanks for the help.

Can you think of ANYTHING I should get them to have a look at, even if its not a concern at the moment?

As I said its the last warranty, and I don't want to forget anything.

Next week = 90mm intake, lower intake and perhaps the berklee!

Will have to start looking for the K&N I suppose to, might have to put in a WTB thread, see if there are any around here.

not really apart from what i mentioned in my first reply are the clips on the plastics on the front seats still intact, if there broken hit them up, jeans and stuff usually pull the cover off if you get caught on it getting out usually, just small things like that is what ive claimed nothing major

ARRRRGHGHGH!!!!

I just got off the phone with Mitsu.

THey said they have replaced a few things, going to cost me $290!!!

WTF, I told them it was a warratny service only. If anythign else needed to be done they were supposed to call.

Also, they didnt replace my headlights. They said there was no fault. FFS, its misting up everytime it rains!

Not happy!

Will be going to pick it up today, I am not paying $290 for a couple of globes!

EDIT: Any suggestions on what to do?

My suggestion is to check what you signed when you dropped the car off...

Did you specifically specify to not proceed without a phone call?

The default paperwork is to give them permission to fix it without calling you.

Also...consumables. oil, filters, battery, plugs etc are not covered by warranty....

I specifically told them that I didnt want anything done on the car other than warranty items replaced.

I also told them to call if there was going to be any charges.

The default paperwork says they can perform work without calling you? Doesnt that mean they could fix anything and everything without your approval? Arent they bound by law to give you an estimate of the charges, before proceeding with any work?

They wont fix the headlights that are leaking, which sux, as the next time they leak they will be out of warranty!

thats bull shit the head lights are supposed to be covered under warranty, moisture isn't supposed to get in there, aren't they annoying at times, what dealer did you take it to.

North Shore Mitsubishi.

I am definately getting that in writing, as both headlights are misting up.
It doesnt cost them anything anyway, so what is their problem????

Very annoying, stuck at work too, so can't really deal with it right now!

Well,

after some serious complaining, there is no charge!

This includes the centre console globes!!! Cool, I hear they are a hassle.

But they are not replacing the headlights! Now that sux, but I have until November for it to rain and fill them up so I can prove it to them.

Even the guy I bought it off from Hunter Holden remembers they were like that, and Hunter Holden owns North Shore Mitsu!

If it's not a sealed unit like 99% of headlights, MOISTURE WILL GET IN THERE. It is not a fault!

I'm sure Mitsubishi would have something to say about it, if the dealer was replacing headlights for being faulty when in actual fact, they aren't!

FFS!

Bluetooth is as bad as ever!

Does everyone else have really crappy bluetooth or is it just me?

Everything else seems fine for now tho...

When you say crappy...can you please provide more details?

I have certainly had differing results with different phones over the years.....

Check your microphone in drivers air vent for orientation?

Bluetooth is pretty bad.

I have an iphone, very degraded sound quality using bluetooth, and when the headlights are on its a lot worse. Extreme static, have to repeat every sentence to the listener.

Microphone is in drivers vent eh? Thats good to know, wasnt sure about that one.

I called myself and left a message just to check, and its not good at all.

Will be calling them tomorrow and checking it out.
Would like to hear someone's to see if this is just the way they are, but it is pretty unbearable.

There is a thread showing a full bluetooth installation in a 380 on this forum.

Might pay you to check it out and see if anything is amiss?

I have an iphone, very degraded sound quality using bluetooth,

iPhones are NOTORIOUS for piss-poor BT connectivity. I had low-volume/static/pops - all kinds of issues.

Replaced phone with Ericsson/Nokia/HTC - EVERY other phone was perfect.

Hmm...

Might have to test it with another phone.

If it was iphone related, wouldnt you expect to have bad call quality on the incomming side too?

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I wanted to share my experience.....

I also dropped my 380 in for warranty items including broken seat plastic, headlights have micro cracks like sun damage, the ticking emission control valve, paint on the B Pillars, noisey blower fan and air vent direction fault.

The B pillars seems to be on alot of 380's It basically looks like someone has left sticky tape on for a month then pulled it off leaving a mark. I am getting these repainted under warranty.
The Headlights they said they would only cover one of them because the other had external damage like someone had polished it ... I am currently arguing it and they told me I have to speak to the service manager that visits every month.
The seat they are covering and they have to rebuild the side of the seat cushion (I guess i'm too fat for it lol).
The ticking will be fixed also.
The air vents they said there is no issue ... if I put the vent on just feet I get air to the feet and lots of air to the dash front window vents. This is apparently normal .....
The fan is covered and has been changed before.

I wonder if we should make a thread if it hasnt already been started, where we can list our vehicles and what warranty stuff was covered and what gets knocked back and how to get things past etc?

I have the same on mine, on the very top of the B pillars, and have always thought it's normal, ie that's the way they come from the factory.
So you saying it's a defect?

Well I got a phone call from the dealership today and they said finally the Service Manager was in town so I took my car in. I went to town! My car has done 70 something thousand k's and is still under new car warranty since it was an ex-demo.

The Service manager was really nice and seemed like he knew his stuff. Very nice guy. I'm getting everything I listed fixed plus new rubber strips on the roof (ones that go front to back since they are showing cracks and they are warped), Getting my Dash replaced since my airbag cover has bulged up, Getting BOTH headlights replaced and the B pillars painted.

The B pillars are failed on most 380's and its a factory defect as confirmed my dealership. The Service manager was a little sus about it but he has ok'd it in the past for me and the guy behind the counter already said he would fix it.

Everyone check your B pillars! Check your headlights!

I'll take some photos and start a warranty thread on my car and stop hijacking this one!
