Hey guys,
bought an exhaust system over the weekend second hand from a guy who knows a thing or 20 about Magnas. This was the complete system off his Magna.
He tells me the rear muffler is by Perry. Has anyone had any experiece with the brand?
Reason being, I've got the Lukey LR2779 on there atm, and I'd rather do one install and put the better rear muffler on.
The Perry brand muffler is obviously straight-thru also.
Anyone have any info on performance/sound of the Perry vs conventional options like Lukey or Redback?
Should I keep the Lukey on or chuck the Perry on? (Perry would be easier to install as it's been welded to the 2.5" axle-back piping, I'd have to remove it and weld the Lukey on if I were to keep the Lukey)
Cheers,
Dingers
wont take long to undo the bolts and give the Perry a crack, see how you like it and decide from there :) Even if it was told one was better than the other, I like to compare things for myself and be able to provide solid feedback to the next person who asks the question.

I could also be interested in the Lukey rear muffler if you decide to ditch it!
My local SuperCheap swears blind they cannot order the Lukey, just whatever crap they happen to have a catalogue for. I have a feeling my TJ Sports will be up for a new set-up soon.......
{And don't wanna hijack your thread but I was well-impressed with Blacktown Pick-n-Payless last weekend....... scored an almost brand-new Mercury cat-back system (still had sticker on resonator, & texta writing on resonator and rear muffler) for $120-00. Also got a quite-new looking intermediate pipe with "genuine Walker" stamped into the resonator for $50-00. Both pipes were easy-as to remove, and was a nice change to find their yard not waterlogged. Got the Walker cat-back thru to rear muffler onto the KJ yesterday, needed to shorten the pipe ahead of the resonator, and weld the flange back on, but for the money was super-happy!}

I guess the big deal is that there's 2.5" mandrel bent pipes welded onto the Perry, whereas I got the stockie 2.4" crap bent piping welded to my Lukey...
Exhaust note shouldn't change too much on the stock system vs full exhaust. I'll put the Perry on and give it a test on my stock system. If it's much better I'll keep it with the full exhaust system, if not, I'll weld the Lukey onto the mandrel piping and chuck it on.
I hope that made sense haha

I used to use Perry headers and systems years ago, the guys who used to run Perry were family friends and the products were exceptional
I am not sure on the quality or for that matter who ownes them these days but if they are still half as good as they used to be, then they will still be excellent

Thanks Mal.
I'll chuck it on for a trial with my stock system, if it sounds just as good/better I'll keep it for the full system.
