Hi,
Just got a 03' Series 2 Verada KJ, and just want to ask something about the interior light. Is it possible to have it so, when you turn the car off and take the key out the ignition, the interior light comes on? I swear it did it when i bought the car but the manual doesnt say anything to support this so maybe i imagined it. If anyone knows a way please let me know. Also when i use the keyless to unlock it, if i just open the passengers door, it still auto locks after about 30 seconds or so, even if the passengers door is still open. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks in advance,
perry

with the light i found for the ligh to stay on was to have the switch in the middle. i has a simlar problem but with the passenger side rear door, it turned out that the button for the door light was getting stuck, a bit of crc cleaner fix that :)

Is it the same button that makes the light come on when u open the door? because that works fine, light comes on when i open it, and i have it set on the middel button which comes on at all the times it says it should in the manual, but i just wish it would come on when u take the key out of the ignition. Thanks

at the bottom of where the door closes theres a little black rubber thing, if you push it in the light should turn off. if thats not working, just unscrew it and disconnect, either clean it or buy a new one. i bought one becuase i threw it and it broke ahhaha. but that will be the door issue haha

The light doesn't come on after removing the key in the KJ - not mine either, anyway.
It does, however come on after removing the key in the TL series on, so I wouldn't think it'd be too hard to find a way to make it work in earlier models.
Magna Sports is spot on about the central locking issue.

I would like this feature too. I'll look into it. It would be a very large pain to change the BEM to a KL one, (the ECU and keys are changed with it) but another feature they have is a time shutoff if the doors are open long periods. (because there are many lights and its not possible to just turn them off without unplugging the door switch)
Let you know how I go.

Hi, thansk for the feedback. I have played with that black button down the bottom and it is working fine. If i push it in the lights go off, and if the doors open the lights are on, but it still auto locks after about 30 seconds if the passengers door is open. A little annoying but maybe ill have to live with it.

cant see why it would be doing it with a working switch, seems odd. mabye try swapping the passenger swith with the drivers and try that?

Sadly it doesn't appear to be a wiring differentiation. This feature (from the TL onwards) is part of the later BEM. This means a large amount of effort.
Sorry mate.
