Hey,

Just had some audio proddy installed the other day.
When I drove off, I realized that my speedo sat flat on 0 !
I went back, and after some fiddling around, and checking of connections, it seemed to be back in working order.
However, driving home on the freeway, just as I hit 80km/h the needle started going haywire. It dropped down to 40 back up to 70 and would occasionally drop to 0 and sometimes sit back on 80 or above. It does this pretty much everytime I hit 80 over the past few days...!

Has anybody else had an issue like this, as a result of a new audio system or other reasons?

Please post a reply if you can help me out with the best way to fix this, as I don't want to open her up and make things worse without checking on here first!

Thanks.

In a couple of my cars in the past, I've experienced this. It meant the speedo cable was loose and about to break (also, odometer stopped working too). Not sure if 380 has cable setup or is all electronic.
I'd call/drop by a dealer (or good mechanic) and ask about it.

The 380 is all electronic, sounds like the audio installers may have dislodged a connector somewhere if it wasn't doing it beforehand.

I have a mate and after an audio install the 380 was destroying CAM positioning sensors???

Yeah I'm fairly sure they just must've bumped something, and it's not quite contacting properly.
Does anyone know which cable it would be? I know it's either under the steering wheel column or in behind the centre console/climate control.
