Hey guys i need some help with my 96 TE Magna.

Recently the car has had troubles starting (cranking, fire slightly and more cranking), then today i got it started, i started driving and the car shuttered at an intersection, and then the engine light came on. Im not very mechanically gifted but i was thinking about trying to change the front 3 spark plugs and see how i go.

Does anyone have an idea on what it could be ?

Cheers.

Only the jap versions were coil on plug setup without Distributer, yours will certainly have a dizzy and cap. if you have the engine light coming on, its a good thing as a code is stored and will tell you whats going wrong.

take it to a auto sparkie and they can put it on the scanner and see wat codes have been logged in the system.

Slammed, i thought of that but the car wouldnt drive to there.

Anyway i found the problem. What ever the connector is that sits on top the intake manifold, broke its clips and slid open a little bit. I used a cable tie to hold it together and voilia its running fine again.

Does anyone know what this connector is ? If you need more info it bolts onto a spare thread inline with the intake manifold removal bolts.

Are you talking about the connector that is on the front of the manifold on the right hand side? The big black mongreal?

You'll find that hooks up to your injector loom. Is the male or female side of loom broken? Remember this goes by pin configuration not the actual plug housing itself.

Yea i know what happened was a clip had broken on the bottom so therefore the pins weren't touching properly.

Fixed now though.

Now THIS is what I call a repair. You could get a job with Holden with quality like that!

Hey! Show some respect! He had a problem, isolated it, fixed it. That's a lot better than some of you guys can do. lol Working for Holden, indeed! lol

that is the injector connector. feeds signals to all injectors. difficult to replace but i would put some better quality cable clamps over it rather than those yellow jobs.
