Well I picked up a black FWD carpet out of a sports that I have been meaning to try out in my AWD. Today I managed to get it in without a hitch.

Very happy with the result, and the fit is good enough for me :)

The worst spots are near the console under the seats (who cares), and the rear hump where the drivetrain goes underneath

I currently have FWD floor mats in the car (thanks to the previous owner) but I will have new AWD ones in a week or so pending an eBay delivery

I am expecting the small areas that aren't 100% settled to flatten out in a few weeks but they are hardy noticeable

nice! Have you thought about maybe using a heat gun and trying to lightly warm and mould the rear transmission hump side to get it to flatten out a little bit?

Yeah, that might work - but as you can see in the pics the rear floor mat is actually one big one that goes right across the hump, so it doesn't matter that the carpet is a bit bunched up underneath.

I might decide to have a go when i change the mats to the genuine AWD ones though

What colour was the original carpet? Grey? I thought this would've already been black. Interesting to see you can make it fit more or less.

Sorry, forgot to post the original.

I figured there was bugger all chance of me finding an AWD black carpet in good nic, so this will do - and TBH the small imperfections don't bother me

nice Pete, would you like to sell your black FWD floor mats when you get your AWD ones?

Yeah mate you can have them, I might keep the rear one but the fronts will definitely be available when I swap them out for new ones. They are dealer branded FWD carpets.

Dave was saying that a new genuine one is about $350 I think..... but that's alot to pay just for black carpet. I got lucky at the wreckers!

You could always try dying your standard carpet I suppose, but I wasn't keen to try that.

You can still get the AWD black carpet new from spare parts. It is heaps of cash though. Thing to note, If you have an AWD or FWD Verada (not a KL/KW) is that the black carpet is not moulded for, or having any of the cutouts for the rear vents under the front seats. After a while it will all settle though.

Looks great Pete. Need to do something about the dash panel edge next to the glovebox though.

I want to see a pic of the rear right footwell without the floormats fitted (but with the seats fitted) before i pass judgement. Because with the pics you have it seems like it has lumps all over the prop shaft tunnel and to the right footwell...
