I got myself an OBD2 reader, plugged it in to the diag port on my car and can connect to it fine, but it doesn't download any info. Could it be that a 2003 TL Magna doesn't support OBD2?

from what I remember, 3rd gen magnas use some MUT-II process to read the data so your ODB2 reader must be able to support that protocol?
Do a search on it, there was a post relating to this issue!
I've been checking code readers and had this one recommended to me: http://www.autoscanners.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6
However, found this at the post which kills the idea:
"PLEASE NOTE: Some AUSTRALIAN VERSION vehicles have Protocols that the Scanner cannot read. eg. [2003 Magna] "
So it's back to the drawing board.

Fairly sure it supports ODB2 as standard.. interesting to hear that device you grabbed isn't working I nearly bought one, lol
Having said that, I once tried an ODB2 scanner (very basic LCD one) and it wouldn't work either.
I lost where you posted what the device is, can you post it up? ODB2 actually encompasses at least 4 different specs for speaking on the connector - but all cars with that port should speak to basic protocol which I presume this is using.. but if you link us up we can check what protocol sit supports.

Hrm... interesting.. I really need to get myself something ODB2 compliant.
I would recommend starting by trying it on another car, something like a new ford or holden and see if it works.. let me know?

Yeah, I gotta hunt down a recent model car. I'll ask on Twitter :)
