Aami generally dont care about low impact mods like lowering and wheels as long as u dont ask them to cover them. 20's means nothing because they are so common now.

I pay 700 a year

Try Shannons, they'll insure anything no matter how modified. I have 3 policies with them(380 included) totalling a combined $93 a month, am well past 25 but! I always recommend these guys as they have helped, for many years now, people get reasonable priced insurance for there modded/classic rides etc when the big co's were pricks about it!

I'm with Shannons - pay $102.18 per month for 2 cars: Magna ($11k value) and my wife's Toyota Sera (~$12k)

Kif - at 2318 p.a. that should be < $200 p.m. Looks like you're paying extra for the pleasure of monthly payments :). Time to shop around and get quotes to make sure you're not over paying.
I've been there - had to pay $1500 p.a on a car worth < $10k.
I would recommend Shannons - you're a car enthusiast and part of a club. Also Suncorp, AAMI, but I've had a bad experience with GIO a long time ago and Just Cars seem to be very expensive.

You can get quotes on-line at each insurers website, but quite often my vehicles have been out of the normal allowed ranges from the computer so I've had to speak to a real person.

To help the OP - try Shannons - they are good with mods. As are some other companies mentioned by others.

Also, lookup an insurance broker in the phone book - they will ring around for you and get the best deal - sometimes with special hidden insureres.
A friend of mine had her car insurance through her work. Was a Japanese company (Panasonic maybe?) and her brand new WRX STi cost $300 per year to insure.

There's some gems out there - I had my 4x4 insured with Australian 4WD insurance via DGA Brokers - covered on and off road and claims processing was a breeze. (I hit a tree off-road on wet grass. No questions, claim paid).

ciao!
Oggy.

Allianz with 10% online discount. Anyone tried that yet? When i researched both cars with all the majors, FOR ME Allianz was the cheapest..

I think its a little more as when you pay by the month they charge you abit more as opposed to paying an annual lump sum.

Over 40, rating #1, no finance on vehicles.

I just paid $405 for my first 380, $365 for my second, $315 for my third, $285 for my fourth.

They asked me if i was the main driver, i said yes...how many k's a year in total? About 20,000.
they divided it by the number of cars and arrived at those amounts including discounts.

The company?

AAMI.

BTW the $$$ amounts are for $550 excess and a yearly premium in advance.

We are with AAMI also. We now pay $64 p/m. That includes all mods AND the 22"s (especially after last time...ARGH). We have a rating 1, the missus is under 25, had a few claims the last couple of years too. But we live in what AAMI call the COUNTRY and get a nice discount.

Its epic and I love it! Im also only paying $18p/m for my work ute (granted its 15 years old and done over 360000kms).

When we were living up on the Gold Coast, we were paying $98p/m (didnt include any mods or the rims and only insured for $18k) and that included a secured and CCTV garage, using the car on weekends and 2 days a week.

Advice for Shannans; they are looking (if you are under 25) that you are involved in motoring, work on your own car, etc.. so when they are asking you questions to that effect, make sure you inform them fully :P
