Gday got one for the gurus!! :) got a 3.0 TR/TS auto that needs a starter motor, cant rebuild the old one its to damaged,, I also have a 2000 TH 3.5 auto wreck at my mates farm but cant be bothered driving all the way up there if there different.

from what i can work out with google & ebay the tr/ts 3.0 has a big starter thats only suited to 2nd gen but the smaller 3rd gen starters maybe will fit the 3.0 TR as ebay lists 3.0 AND 3.5 on the TF to TJ starters ?

so im confused, is there a flywheel difference between 2nd and 3rd gen or something??

Motor is the wrong way for a start. and i can almost 100% say they will not fit. another starter will be about $80 from the wreckers. take the old one with you as there are 2 types. if you get the wrong one say bye to your ring gear.

third gen will not fit, totally different unit unfortunately
