guys, my remote boot release cable looks like it has snapped or come detached from the boot release solenoid. Looking at the frayed end looks like a break though and the length of wire I pulled out of the tube is about a yard and a half so I reckon it must be close to the solenoid. My question is, where is the solenoid and how is it accessed?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

if it is broken at the lever end u could try taking the round ball thingy and soldering the frayed bit back on... worked on mine! :D

hahahaha sorry for the laugh ive just been thru the same crap if u own a 3rd gen TE-current model dont go to mitsu if u have a manual lever beside the seat no prob $26 will get u a new cable and away u go but if u have the remote power option like i do mitsu will part u with your hard erned $440 retail $340 trade for the thing the cable doesnt come seperate u have to buy it with the motor rang a couple of wreckers here in melb $150 second hand i dont know how the price is justified so i went to a non magna specific wrecker and found a 3rd gen and got the cable for $12 all fixed these brand specific guys are asbad as the dealers.
